BRANDON & ZARA KINTZ
Lead Pastors
Brandon grew up in Lacona, IA. He is a graduate of Victory College (ministry) and Oklahoma Wesleyan University (psychology).
Zara grew up in Sioux Center, IA. She is a graduate of Baylor University (political science/religion) and Oral Roberts University (organizational leadership).
Brandon and Zara have been married since June 2019. Previously, Brandon and Zara lived in Waco, TX, where Brandon served as the youth pastor and Zara as the executive director at River City Church.
In 2023, God called them back to their home state and gave them the vision to plant Empower Church in Norwalk, IA, with the support of Indianola First Assembly of God.
Brandon loves to try new things, as evidenced by his many hobbies. Whether it be riding motorcycles, playing instruments, or exploring new places, Brandon is always excited for the next adventure or activity to come. Zara loves reading, podcasts, and checking things off her to-do list.
Together, they love a good latte, visiting national parks, and hiking!
MALACHI & DAYRA THOMSEN
Youth Directors
Malachi grew up in Indianola, IA. He graduated from Indianola High School and he has been a youth leader at Indianola First Assembly of God.
Dayra grew up in Monterrey, NL, Mexico. She graduated from the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo Leon (Renewable Energy and Sustainability Development). She has experience working in churches as a Service Producer in Hillsong Monterrey and as a Stage Manager in Central Monterrey.
Malachi and Dayra have been married since September 2024. They live in Indianola, IA. God called them to be a part of Empower Church, and they have a heart for the youth of Norwalk.
In his free time, Malachi enjoys graphic design and all things creative in general. He also likes to be active and likes sports.
Dayra enjoys being around nature and animals. She loves to have picnics and eat spicy food.
Together, they like to watch movies and listen to music. They also enjoy traveling together.
